Mountain magic in Kandersteg 🏔️

I had such a lekker time here! Claudia and Gerhard are the best hosts, always going the extra mile to make you feel at home. The brekkie was top-notch, especially the fresh croissants, and I loved chilling in the wellness spa. The cozy vibe of the place is just perfect!

Only slight issue was the shower being a bit snug, but honestly, it didn’t ruin my stay at all.

The balcony offered unbeatable mountain views.

my stay at bernerhof was absolutley dissapointing. the beds were dark ages hard, definitely not for someone with refined taste. and arriving in the rain to a bare lobby without a welcoming gesture? unacceptable. to top it off, a simple bottle of water in my room woudl ve been nice. i almost gave a good review but just couldn’t.

the staff made my husband feel special for his 70th birthday. the room lacked a fridge.

The small bathroom made it a bit cramped for comfort, and while the pillows offered some softness, they didn’t suit everyone's tastes, leaving some with sore necks. Getting to the hotel from the train station can be a trek, particularly when hauling bags under the rain, and the limited dinner menu options might leave some diners wanting variety.

The hotel's central location made exploring the village easy, complemented by the cozy atmosphere. While the small shower posed a slight inconvenience, the friendly staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure comfort and satisfaction throughout the stay.

I just spent four wonderful nights at the Hotel Bernerhof. The owners, Claudia and Gerhard, welcomed me back warmly like an old friend. My Mountain View room exceeded expectations with spectacular views and was spotlessly clean. The half-board evening meals were enjoyable, beautifully presented over four courses, although I found the dinner menu choices a bit limited for an extended stay. It's still great value for 45 CHF compared to surrounding options. Breakfast stood out with plenty of fresh fruit and the chance to order freshly cooked scrambled eggs and bacon, which made mornings special. I appreciated the thoughtful touches, like a little booklet with daily weather and local tips. The proximity to hiking trails and the town made it perfect for exploring. Small inconveniences included a lack of a refrigerator in my room and occasional noise from cows outside, but those didn't detract significantly from my stay. The self-service laundry came in handy after my hikes. it captured an inviting and cozy atmosphere that made me feel relaxed throughout.
